VMAP blog - The stories of a small startup
The official blog for vmap.com. VMAP is a site for browsing a map to find videos about the places, where they are marked on that map. It crowd-sources the organizing work to viewers to post videos and tag videos, so there can be a best video, and viewers will be presented with popular videos.

VMAP gets as MAJOR overhaul, and users respond.
Within days of launching the new overhaul, and with the help of no marketing, a few users have registered and added videos with a slight increase in traffic.
Besides the new, visually pleasing design, there are some new features:
DISQUS comments, 2012 version. Load any video, such as this one of the Teahupoo wave in Tahiti, and you now have an easy to use comment system. Disqus has the best comment system out there and I highly recommend it to developers, it simply does all the work for you, including giving users notifications when their comment gets replies.
Profile pics. If you log in with your facebook or twitter accounts, your profile pic will be used from that account, with no extra work needed.
Stamps. Videos can now be organized by user-awarded "stamps".
